Music That Matters

Cowboy Junkies – featured on the charity compilation Joey’s Song

Cowboy Junkies make music that is sometimes hard to describe. It is often “quiet” music that is sonically rich. When they broke through with their Trinity Sessions record in 1987, they created an immediate sensation. The LA Times named that record one of the year’s ten best. They were nominated for a Juno Award as Group of The Year in both 1990 and 1991. They recorded a special acoustic version of their classic “This Street, That Man, This Life” just for Joey’s Song.
